The Sunday note

Restorative yoga · Portland

I was extremely bad at resting

I came to restorative yoga as a sceptic and a poor candidate — two jobs, a running habit, and a firm belief that lying on the floor was for people with more time than me.

What changed my mind was a physiotherapist pointing out, bluntly, that I had been injured four times in two years, all during stretches when I slept badly.

Low Sprig is a small room with a great many bolsters. Classes are quiet, warm and dimly lit. You will be given more props than you think you need — the body only lets go when it is completely supported.

Come if you are tired in a way that sleep has stopped fixing.
